seven days until Hawaii.

saw My Bloody Valentine in 3D last night with Mike McMullen. it was okay but the 3D glasses sucked because you don't get to keep them, at least not from Marcus Theatres, and they were huge plastic clunky things and i had to wear them over my regular glasses and it kept sliding down my nose. very uncomfortable. but the effects were cool, as i had never been to a 3D movie before.
Saturday night, hung out with John. got baked in his hot tub. talked in there for about 2 hours. somehow came to the realization i may have been abducted by aliens at some point in my childhood based on vivid memories that may or may not have been dreams. tried Red Robin for the first time. note to self: don't get the bayou burger again. do get the onion rings.

tomorrow i go downtown to see the show that Will's band was supposed to play with him and brett and probably steve. it feels like i haven't seen him in a long time, but it's only been since wednesday. we sorta had another misunderstanding about a certain symbol (<3). its so hard when we have a problem because we almost never do. it makes me think i wouldn't be able to handle us breaking up. not that i think that's in the cards but still. i really do need this vacation with him.
wednesday i get waxed for the first time ever. that will be interesting.

i love love

even though it rained most of the day, after we ate dinner at My Thai, it had cleared up. there was only one other couple on the ice, and then a girl alone, and a guy alone, not all at once. it was like the ice rink was just for us. besides the lame satellite radio channel, it was a perfect night. i know its so cliche and cheesey to say, but i love being in love.

wasn't supposed to see him on Valentines day. the plan was just to go see Brendan Losch by myself. just before i left for the show, Will called and asked me to come over. so i went to the show, saw Brendan, took pictures, came back and hung out with my Valentine.

reading Watchmen. halfway done.
2 weeks til Hawaii.
we're (hopefully) seeing Watchmen while we're in Hawaii.

i miss my dog.

i want to teach Rudy how to play dead. i want to point at him, say BANG, and have him lay down upside down. that would be awesome.

it's sarah's birthday today but she's not home. i thought she was coming home.
it's lonely here.

dogs are better than blogs

watching the Westminster Kennel Club dog show right now. The breeders that I got Rudy from... their champion dog Bad Boy won a Award of Merit in the Irish Setter breed. As far as the Sporting Group goes, an English Setter placed third, I believe. I think that will be my next Setter, an English, because they are supposed to be the most calm of the three. I would get it from a rescue place though. But I would hope it would be a younger one so I could change his name easier. it would be called Falcor of course. the striking resemblance to the luck dragon from Neverending Story. this is only because I don't think there are very many white wire haired Dachshunds, and English setters are the next closest to what I would think a dog version of the luck dragon would be.

this is Vineyards' Bad Boy (Rudy's relative):

I still want to get Rudy involved in the pet modeling thing, see what that's all about. he could definitely be in commercials or print ads. i don't know if he's got the patience for a movie role.

I went home this weekend because there was nothing to do in the city since Will went to his suburbs to visit Drew, who is now released from the hospital. I hung out with John and played Wii for hours. I finally rearranged my room at home too so that was nice. Still have some cleaning to do next time I go though. We took Rudy and Major to the vet for their kennel boarding shots so they don't get sick while we're in Hawaii. also found out that Major has a heart murmur but it doesn't seem life threatening because he has never exhibited any symptoms like shortness of breath or coughing or sluggishness. He's getting an eco-cardiogram when we get back from Hawaii. John's dog Cody has always had a heart murmur and he's been fine and going on eleven years old now so I'm not too worried at this point.

Mine and Will's anniversary tomorrow. We're supposed to get dinner and go ice skating, as long as the rain holds off.
